Just because a theory is widely accepted doesn’t mean it’s actually true. There are so many things about the universe that we don’t understand. The very concept of infinity and time for example are far beyond the capacity of our brains to comprehend. Human beings have a beginning and an end, buildings have tops and bottoms. Many people can only define their existence and everything in it by tangible definitions of start and finish.
However the concept of the universe being infinite, never-ending…we can’t wrap our brains around that concept…to be something tangible. There are many more things about the universe that have yet to be discovered by humanity, and will remain undiscovered.
Except at a reasonable distance, light cannot pass a black hole…which begs the question, if nothing is faster than the speed of light then why is it that light itself cannot pass through the dimensions of a black hole?
I am a believer that anything is possible. And since there is no real definition of speed in zero gravity, as is the condition of space, then yes I believe it is possible that there are “speeds” greater than the speed of light. The very definitions of speed were calculated by human beings within a gravitational field so that we could conceptualize that in our puny brains.
