Egypt: Would you guys hypothetically speaking sign in for a deep space flight like something like mars?
Hi guys,
Was watching some discovery science about the space flight to mars that it would take some time to travel to mars,so wanted to came up with this question.
lets say for example they invited you for a deep space flight to something like mars that some years and come back to earth would you sign up or not ?
Edit:
Lets say its gonna take 3 years trip since going to mars is 216 days and it would be totally safe.
As for me I would choose yes aswell depending on its safety and not become something like 8 years trip.
nope

Roving MARS $36.95 “Visually Stunning” – Ann Hornaday, Washington Post Mars is Earth’s closest planetary neighbor, and for decades scientists have been curious about the so-called “Red Planet,” wondering if it’s possible that life exists there, how its soil and terrain differs from our own, and if water can be found. While sending a manned space mission to Mars has been considered beyond the reach of America’s space program, in 2001 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration approved a mission to send two “rovers” to Mars — wheeled robots that would send images and data back to Earth. A two-year crash program resulted in two robotic rovers (dubbed “Spirit” and “Opportunity”) being sent to Mars, which have given scientists and researchers on Earth a brand new vision of what the planet is really like. Roving Mars is a documentary which offers a detailed look at the people behind the Mars rover program, how the machines were built and what they can do, and what has been learned since they reached their target. Roving Mars was shot and originally exhibited in the high-definition IMAX film format. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide Features: Actors: Paul Newman, Stephen Squyres, Rob Manning (IV), Charles Elachi, Wayne Lee (II) Directors: George Butler (II) Format: AC-3, Closed-captioned, Color, Dolby, Dubbed, DVD-Video, Full Screen, Subtitled, Widescreen, NTSC Language: English Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1 Studio: Buena Vista Home Entertainment DVD Release Date: July 31, 2007 Run Time: 40 minutes Bonus Features: Bonus Movie: Mars and Beyond – Walt Disney’s 1957 Investigation into the mysteries of the universe and space travel. 50 minutes. “Mars: Past, Present & Future”- Personal reflections on Mars from the filmmakers, JPL Rover team members and students from the “Imagine Mars” program |

Mars, Pocket Space Guide $9.95 Mars If you always thought that it was Giovanni Schiaparelli who first coined the phrase ?Canali? pertaining to the straight lines he observed on Mars, you?d be wrong. In 1858 an astronomer working at the Vatican observatory, named father Pietro Angelo Secchi, took it upon himself to create his own drawings of Mars. The red planet was now nearing a close approach to earth and the powerful Vatican telescope was capable of resolving detail previously invisible to most astronomers. Secchi thought he saw a series of straight lines on the Martian surface so he made an innocuous notation in his notes. His sketches and articles were published in 1859 in which he referred several times to ?Canale Atlantico? or ?Canale Ceruleo?. His regrettable choice of words would not have an impact for another eight years. In this highly readable and informative second book in the Apogee Pocket Space Guide© series, you’ll read not only about people and places that have influenced mankind?s relationship with the enigmatic red planet, but you’ll see the color drawings that Secchi made, which were provided to Apogee directly by the Vatican itself. Along with many other interesting stories, drawings and photographs this book will be a prize for both the novice or ardent student of Mars.Don?t let its small size deceive you, this book is packed with amazing stories and is a must have for anybody with the slightest interest in our next door neighbor in space. All of the Mars probes, including Global Surveyor, Mariner 4, 6, 7, and 9, the Mars Exploration Rovers, Mars Odyssey, Mars Pathfinder, Sojourner, and Viking 1 and 2, are discussed in this reference to the vehicles used to explore Earth’s volatile neighbor. Features: Paperback: 96 pages Publisher: Collector’s Guide Publishing Inc (March 1, 2006) Language: English Book Dimensions: 6.7 x 4.1 x 0.5 inches |
