Outer Space Travel Impossible

Outer Space Travel Impossible
I have a question about time travel, space, and the age of the universe?

Lets say for the sake of argument that time travel is possible like in the movies, would the age of the universe make time travel impossible because assuming a person is travelling back in time would they remain immobile in one spot while time moves around them, thus when they appear in the time period of there choice wouldn’t the position of the planet be in another point in space from when the person left to go back in time, thus making them appear in outer space or inside a solid object that wasn’t there when they began travelling back in time, so how could time travel be possible when our own history records aren’t detailed enough for a person to know if there will appear inside a wall, hillside, vase or even in outer space?

You solved the problem with your definition of time travel.

“time travel is possible like in the movies”

In the movies people don’t appear inside of solid objects, in the middle of outer space, etc. They magically appear on the same place on Earth where that point in history occurred, in a suitable location and even air molecules are moved aside such that you can appear safely.

As long as you are using the movie definition of time travel you are safe.

If you want some type of real world definition of time travel, then of course you quickly have to conclude that time travel like the movies is impossible. And of course not just arriving on the same point on Earth, but also actually sending anything larger than a sub-atomic particle back in time.

The Space Shuttle: Celebrating Thirty Years of NASA’s First Space Plane [Hardcover] Author: Piers Bizony Bookviews by Alan Caruba”…a classic coffee table book, 10.5 x 11.25, 300 pages and filled with 900 color photos. In short, the perfect Christmas gift for someone who is an enthusiast for life and travel in outer space. In the 1980s, on assignment, I had the opportunity to visit the John F. Kennedy Space Center and tour the site where rockets and space shuttles were launched. I saw a shuttle up close and that is to say I saw a vehicle that was the size of a small building and marveled that it could be lifted beyond Earth?s gravity to circle the planet. One can only marvel at the courage of the crews that went aloft and the scientific and technological mastery that made it possible. This book is a keeper!” This superbly designed and lavishly illustrated book marks a special moment in history: the final mission of the space shuttle. Noted space and science author Piers Bizony has put together a retrospective that covers the entire space shuttle program. In addition to covering every space shuttle mission, the book also covers the development and design of the space shuttle, as well as the technical specifications of the vehicle and details of its major assemblies and subassemblies. A full double-gatefold provides a large-scale technical drawing of the space shuttle.
