Faster than light travel?

I’m doing a 6000 word paper on the title ‘Is it theoretically possible to travel faster than light and what implications would arise from travelling at such speeds?’ and I’m lost as to what to write about. I am up to 2000 words but need more to write about, the title can be changed.

so far I have covered:
Current propulsion systems
Time dilation
Comms. problems
Warping space

If you can think of things to write about (considering i am an 18 year old who dropped out of physics…) even if the things you think of doesn’t match the title never mind, i can change it, maybe even suggest a better title to work to.

hmm well I’m not sure whether you talked about this in “current propulsion systems,” but it is physically impossible to travel faster than light using conventional means because as one accelerates, one’s mass increases. One can see how this would be problematic, considering the more you accelerate an object, the harder it is to accelerate. A theoretical physicist did a mathematical experiment involving this phenomenon and discovered that any object larger than subatomic particles would require more energy than the universe theoretically has to accelerate the object past the speed of light.

Now, CERN is doing experiments in which they accelerate subatomic particles near light speed, but these particles have almost no mass and STILL are unable to go faster than light.

You could talk about the theoretical particles known as “tachyons” which travel so fast that they go backwards in time.

Also, you could talk about light cones and what it would mean for something to go faster than the speed of light.

This spacecraft was the second Apollo mission to orbit the Moon, and the first to travel to the Moon with the full Apollo spacecraft, consisting of the Command and Service Module, named “Charlie Brown,” and the Lunar Module, named “Snoopy.” The primary objectives of the mission were to demonstrate crew, space vehicle and mission support facilities during a human lunar mission and to evaluate Lunar Module performance in cislunar and lunar environment. The mission was a full “dry run” for the Apollo 11 mission, in which all operations except the actual lunar landing were performed.On May 22, Thomas Stafford and Eugene Cernan entered the Lunar Module and fired the Service Module reaction control thrusters to separate the Lunar Module from the Command Module. The Lunar Module was put into an orbit to allow low-altitude passes over the lunar surface, the closest approach bringing it to within 8.9 kilometers (5.5 miles) of the Moon. All systems on the Lunar Module were tested during the separation including communications, propulsion, attitude control and radar. The Lunar Module and Command Module rendezvous and redocking occurred 8 hours after separation on May 23. Thirty-one lunar orbits were achieved. The term most commonly applies to an EVA made outside a craft orbiting Earth (a spacewalk) but also applies to an EVA made on the surface of the Moon (a moonwalk). In the later lunar landing missions the command module pilot did an EVA to retrieve film canisters on the return trip.Due to the different designs of the early spacecraft, the American and Soviet space programs also define an EVA differently.
